Welcome to Simple Receipts. These Terms of Service ("Terms" or "EULA") govern your use of our mobile application (the "Service" or "Licensed Application"). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
This agreement is between you and Simple Receipts, not Apple. Apple Inc. ("Apple") is not a party to these Terms. Simple Receipts, not Apple, is solely responsible for the Service and its content. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to provide any maintenance or support services with respect to the Service.
By accessing or using Simple Receipts, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Subject to these Terms, Simple Receipts grants you a non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Service on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, and as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and the Usage Rules set forth therein. This license does not allow you to use the Service on any device that you do not own or control, and you may not distribute or make the Service available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time. You may not rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense the Service.
Simple Receipts is a mobile application that helps you:
All processing is performed on your device. Simple Receipts has no servers and does not store your data remotely.
Simple Receipts offers a free 7-day trial. After the trial, a subscription is required to continue using the app:
Current pricing is displayed in the app and on the App Store.
After your free trial ends, a subscription is required to continue using the app. Your trial does not automatically convert to a paid subscription — you must actively choose a plan. If you do not subscribe, access to the app's features will be paused until you subscribe, but your data will not be deleted.
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their App Store refund policies. We do not process payments or refunds directly.
You agree not to:
You represent and warrant that: (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
The Service, including its design, features, and content, is owned by Simple Receipts and protected by intellectual property laws.
You retain full ownership of your receipt data and images. We have no access to your data.
In the event of any third-party claim that the Service or your possession and use of the Service infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Simple Receipts, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim to the extent required by these Terms.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
We do not warrant that:
You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of extracted receipt data, especially for tax or business purposes.
Simple Receipts, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the Service or your possession and/or use of the Service, including, but not limited to: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the Service fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
In the event of any failure of the Service to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the Service to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the Service, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be Simple Receipts' sole responsibility.
Important: Simple Receipts is a tool for organizing receipts. We do not provide tax, legal, or financial advice. Tax categorization, GST/HST tracking, and tax summaries are for organizational purposes only. Consult a qualified professional for tax or legal matters.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SIMPLE RECEIPTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the past 12 months.
In no event shall Apple be liable for any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure of the Service. You agree that Apple shall have no responsibility whatsoever for any such claims.
Your data is stored only on your device. Simple Receipts does not maintain copies of your data on any server. If your device is lost, damaged, or reset, your receipt data will be permanently lost unless you have enabled iCloud Drive backup or saved receipt photos to your photo library.
We strongly recommend that you:
Simple Receipts is not liable for any data loss resulting from device loss, damage, theft, software malfunction, or failure to maintain backups.
Simple Receipts is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services with respect to the Service, as specified in these Terms or as required under applicable law. For all support requests, please contact us at [email protected]. You acknowledge that Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the Service.
You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the Service. The Service may access third-party services such as Apple iCloud Drive. Your use of such third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service.
You and Simple Receipts acknowledge that Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and that, upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.
You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app. Cancelling your subscription will prevent renewal but you retain access until the end of the current billing period. These Terms are effective until terminated by you or Simple Receipts. Your rights under these Terms will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any of its terms.
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of the Province of Ontario, and you and Simple Receipts hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply to these Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Simple Receipts regarding the Service and supersede all prior or contemporaneous understandings.
